Frequently asked questions

What is the coach-to-child ratio, and how are the children grouped?

Children are grouped in small teams of up to five, with a 1:6 coach-to-child ratio. This ensures that each child receives plenty of individual guidance and support.

What is the programme experience like?

Your child can expect a fun and engaging adventure around Jewel, where they will complete various activity stations while being immersed in a Chinese-speaking environment.

The experience is designed to encourage confidence, participation, and natural language use through play and storytelling.

Will there be toilet and water breaks?

Yes. Regular toilet, hydration, and rest breaks are built into all of our programmes. For outdoor programmes, breaks are scheduled more frequently to ensure participants remain comfortable, safe, and well-hydrated throughout the day.

How do you engage children of different ages and levels?

Each team includes a mix of children from different age groups, and our coaches carefully assess each child’s skill level to ensure everyone can participate meaningfully. Coaches actively supervise and step in whenever necessary, ensuring younger children are supported and can participate confidently.

Each exercise involves 听, 说, 读, and 演. Children who are more confident in reading may lead that part, while others can practise speaking or acting out the story. This collaborative approach allows every child to contribute meaningfully while learning from their peers.

Beyond language skills, this setup fosters teamwork, social interaction, and confidence-building, all within a safe, structured, and immersive Chinese learning environment.

Does my child need to be fluent in Chinese to join?

Not at all! Our camps welcome children of all language backgrounds, including those who don’t speak Chinese at home. Our MOE-registered coaches make lessons fun and accessible, using bilingual support where needed so that every child can participate confidently and enjoyably. We believe that early exposure in an environment where Chinese is used is beneficial, helping children develop familiarity and confidence with the language.

Who are your coaches?

Our coaches are registered with MOE and have extensive experience conducting programmes for MOE schools. They specialise in child development and experiential learning, making Chinese learning engaging, practical, and confidence-building for every child.

Will my child only focus on Chinese during the programme?

Not at all! While Chinese is the main language of communication, our camps are designed around interactive themes and real-world activities, from storytelling and creative writing, to games, team challenges, and even light outdoor tasks. This helps children use Chinese naturally while developing confidence, teamwork, and creativity.

What are your safety policies?

Your child’s safety and well-being are our top priorities. We maintain strict child supervision ratios, conduct risk assessments before every activity, and have facilitators trained in first aid and emergency procedures. Parents will be contacted immediately in case of emergencies.

Can I stay with my child during the programme?

We’ve found that children engage and participate best when they have the freedom to explore and interact independently. For that reason, we generally recommend that parents do not sit in during the session.

If you’d like, you’re welcome to observe from the side, as long as your child isn’t distracted. Our top priority is to create the best possible experience for every child.

Can I get a refund if my child can’t attend?

Once payment is made, the booking is confirmed and non-refundable, even for late arrivals or early departures.

However, in the event that the slots are filled or the camp is cancelled by us due to unforeseen circumstances (refer to our Terms & Conditions),

  • Your payment will be fully refunded to the original payment method within 14 working days
  • Or you may transfer the booking to another available programme of equal value (subject to availability). Please notify us at least 3 days before the programme starts
Is it possible to get someone else to pick up my child on my behalf at dismissal?

It is possible to authorise someone to pick up your child. More information on this can be found in the info pack sent to you prior to the programme.

My child is not P4 or P5, can they still attend?

Likely, yes! Please drop us a message at +65 8057 8818 before registering.
